Lagunitas Restoring a cult original.

Since 1993, Lagunitas Brewing Company has been one of craft beer’s most distinctive voices, brewed “accidentally on purpose” in Northern California and built on bold irreverence and iconic IPAs.

As the brand expanded, that voice became fragmented across a growing portfolio. Otherway was appointed to unify Lagunitas under a single masterbrand platform.

Rather than reinvent the brand, the work focused on sharpening what was already there. Translating its cult status into a system that could scale.

We developed a new platform: Let Your Beer Do the Talking.

A single point of view that brings Lagunitas and its sub-brands together. Less posturing, more personality. A brand that doesn’t need to overstate itself because the product already does the talking.

We rebuilt the verbal identity around this principle, reintroducing the dry wit and offbeat confidence that defined the brand’s early following, and shaping it into a consistent, scalable tone of voice.

The system extended the platform across film and into culture, through crafted storytelling and a collaboration with Iron Maiden that amplified the brand’s attitude at scale.

The result is a unified brand system that aligns product, messaging, and behaviour across the portfolio, without losing the rawness that made Lagunitas distinct.
